Conducts pre-operational inspections using visual and analytical methods

Verifies lot number accuracy by comparing ingredients and packaging to production batch records

Description:
We are seeking a candidate with experience in a commercial food manufacturing environment to join our Product Development team. Product Development at Fresca serves a creative role in development of new products as well as a support role to Operations, Quality, and Client Services to ensure product quality and production efficiency goals are achieved. The key responsibilities for this position are to develop and document new product formulas and processes, support internal and external client needs, and manage projects to budget and timelines.

Responsibilities:
 Develop and document new product formulas and processes based on market and client requirements
 Work closely with Fresca clients and partners to translate their ideas into new products
 Source ingredients and suppliers for new products
 Assist in sourcing equipment and developing manufacturing processes for new products.
 Conduct line trials in collaboration with Operations and Quality to test and transition new products into full scale production
 Train Operations crews on the line and through documentation on production of new products (involves occasional early morning, late night and weekend work)
 Cost reduce existing products through collaboration with Operations and Finance
 Develop, document, and train crews on quality specs of new products in collaboration with Operations and Quality.

Requirements:
 Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or related degree
 5+ years of food production experience, including familiarity with production equipment
 Experience commercializing packaged food products from bench top to full scale production
 Experience sourcing ingredients/working with suppliers
 Ability to cost formulas
 Strong quantitative and MS Excel skills
 Skilled communicator who can effectively collaborate with a wide variety of people at all levels of the company.
 Demonstrated aptitude for developing plans and completing tasks to project deadlines

Compensation:

Job Responsibilities:
• Maximize/improve retail cold box placement for our beverage partners.
• Maintain/increase facings and shelf placement.
• Ensure adequate back stock.
• Develop relationships at store, wholesale and vendor level.
