About The Presenters
As founder and CEO of The Nourished Group, formerly The Gluten Free Media Group, Jen Cafferty is a nationally recognized expert on connecting gluten-free and free-from brands to consumers. Not only does Jen run the largest specialty diet marketing group in the US, she also owns the Find Me Gluten Free app and runs The Nourished Festivals, which together reach over 3 million people and 6,000 brands annually. A pioneer in specialty diet marketing and events, Jen transformed the gluten and allergen-free industry through her consumer sampling shows, Nourished Festivals, which have been hosted for over 12 years in 10 locations. Through the consulting division of The Nourished Group, Jen collaborates with numerous restaurants, CPG brands and retailers to ensure they are attaining their full marketing potential when reaching the free-from customer. Jen and her family follow restricted diets due to a variety health concerns and with years of experience living a gluten-free and allergen-friendly lifestyle, Jen’s opinion has become the “seal of good housekeeping” for many brands. As a Certified Health Coach and Chef, Jen frequently teaches lifestyle classes, writes articles and collaborates on gluten-free projects. Combining her personal and professional experience, Jen Cafferty truly is a proponent for gluten-free and allergen-friendly living.
Jim Garsow’s passion for the food industry was cultivated at an early age, growing up on a dairy farm with a deep appreciation for good, natural food. Jim has a combination of grit and intelligence with a unique background understanding of the dynamics in the entire food system – from farm-to-table. At the heart of Jim’s experience are his passion for building business, marketing research/consumer insights, and innovative marketing strategies. His experience managing P&Ls ranges from early stage development to multimillion- dollar brands. He developed a reputation for finding a path to success in highly competitive categories in spite of limited internal resources or differing mindsets. He thrives in challenging situations and is honored when co-workers complement him for being a steady, reasoned leader in some of the most difficult business situations. Most recently, Jim was Vice President of Marketing at Good Foods Group, where he led development of the company’s vision/mission/core values, brand, and product growth strategies. Heading teams in market research and product innovation as well as execution of customer and consumer promotional plans. He strategically positioned sales and marketing plans to successfully introduce more than 70 new products. He built the R&D function while hiring and mentoring professional sales and marketing teams.
Chef Dana Murrell considers herself a native of Colorado with her 20+ years living in and around Boulder. She attended Johnson & Wales University in Denver, and post graduating spend over 10 years working in various Boulder restaurants such as Colterra Food & Wine and Riffs Urban Fare. In 2014 she joined Green Chef where she could share her passion for healthy eating and organic ingredients. Since joining Green Chef, she has helped launch various dietary plans such as Gluten-Free, Vegan, Paleo, and Keto.
