Company Background:

ONE Brands, formerly OhYeah! Nutrition, was founded in 1999 by Ron McAfee, a pioneer and leader in the protein category. Historically, OhYeah focused on the nutrition space, offering protein shakes, powders and supplements. In late 2015, OhYeah launched their newest innovation – the ONE Bar. In just 12 months, ONE Bar exploded onto the marketplace, amassing a huge following despite limited distribution. The launch of the ONE Birthday Cake Bar sealed the deal on ONE’s position as a leading better-for-you indulgent protein snack, touting superior taste and texture.

Since then, OhYeah rebranded to ONE Brands, continued to innovate into new flavors and recently launched ONE PLANT, a plant-protein based bar. ONE has been the fastest-growing protein bar in the category for the last year and has continued to increase awareness, distribution and household penetration nationally. In October 2019, ONE Brands was acquired by the Hershey Company and yet maintains offices in Charlotte, NC and Boulder, CO. ONE Brands is focused on proving that guilt-free indulgence is possible, offering high protein and low sugar products that deliver on amazing taste and texture.

About the Job:

The Brand Manager position is an exciting and unique opportunity to join the marketing team of one of the fastest growing snack bar brands in Boulder. This position is responsible for developing brand strategy, leading brand marketing activities and driving future innovation opportunities. Reporting to the VP of Marketing, this role is part of the Marketing leadership team that helps define and set ONE Brands up for future growth and success. The ideal candidate will demonstrate superior organization, leadership, and project management skills while working across all components of brand marketing. S/he will bring a passion and a can-do attitude to our marketing team while managing multiple direct reports.

Key Responsibilities:

Accountable for managing a variety of marketing initiatives that drive brand awareness, trial and distribution.
Assist in the development of annual, long and short-term marketing strategy and plans.
Be the brand lead across all other marketing functions – both in brand strategy, promotion and creative. Assist in the development of brand/marketing content to ensure it is in line with overall brand positioning and voice.
Collaborate and support the sales team to provide best-in-class retailer specific merchandising and shopper marketing materials as needed for new and existing distribution growth opportunities.
Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams (Operations, Sales, Finance) to ensure successful and on-time execution of marketing initiatives and innovation.
Oversee coordination of external agency partners on the development, design and production of creative assets and brand campaigns.
Direct and oversee integrated and experiential marketing activities, including PR, partnerships/ sponsorships and sampling.
Direct and oversee ABM, Innovation with innovation strategy and pipeline, leading a cross-functional team in the concept development through commercialization.
Manage the marketing budget, through accurate tracking and forecasting of marketing spend.
Actively gather, analyze and present brand, competitor and health & wellness food category insights, trends and data. Specifically utilize SPINS/IRI data to create sales stories, as well as develop marketing and product strategies.
Actively manage research initiatives including, custom on-demand research, tracking studies, brand research and more.
Lead, manage and coach 3 direct reports: Associate Brand Manager, Associate Brand Manager of Innovation and Assistant Brand Manager.
Assist VP of Marketing as the Brand Liaison to parent, The Hershey Company.
Responsible for creating and supporting a positive, professional, team-oriented, harassment-free work environment by understanding and complying with the Company’s policies, by demonstrating the Company’s values, and being a role model for the Company Brand.

Education and/or Experience:

BS/BA Degree (Business/Marketing preferred)
4-6 years of experience in marketing (consumer packaged goods marketing preferred)
Experience with both traditional and innovative communications and marketing techniques, including customer-specific/shopper marketing programs.
Strategy and integrated marketing communications strength a plus.
Knowledge of project management principles; discipline of planning, organizing, securing, and managing resources to achieve specific goals
S/he will have a collaborative approach with great customer service, both, internal and external, such as interfacing with cross-functional teams and external partners.
