Director of Social Media

The Social Media Director is responsible for NGVC brand management for distribution through social media channels with a focus on preserving content integrity as it aligns with corporate branding objectives in a changing digital landscape according to directives of the Marketing Department for the continued growth of the organization.

Key responsibilities include the following essential functions, but are not limited to:

Manages content distributed through social media outlets to promote NGVC brand identity, increase product awareness and foster community interaction in a manner that strengthens relationships and increases a constituency of followers
Develops and maintains comprehensive social media strategies that define how marketing techniques are to be applied to increase brand visibility and traffic of company brands, products, services and events
Heads and coordinates the development of organization-wide social media management standards, policies, and rules of engagement for social media SOP
Reviews strategy and identifies opportunities to increase information flow that achieves goals of specified campaigns and overall objectives of the department
Utilizes and documents data analytics from social software to analyze content performance, track campaign successes, and make decisions with attention to budgeting
Monitors current cultural trends and to identifies opportunities to drive NGVC content and engagement
Categorizes tiers of constituents to forecast brand engagement and identify opportunities for growing viewership and followers
Collaborates with Public Relations for consistent brand management and development of NGVC brand story for distribution on digital platforms
Directly supervises Social Media Coordinator; directs and edits postings for corporate and retail social profiles
Partners with Recruiting department to promote hiring needs, job fairs, and new store staffing announcements with specific attention to engaging passive candidates
Work closely with product teams to develop marketing strategies for consumer goods
Collaborates with Website Developer and Digital Media Agency to analyze and document social media SEO and SEM
Confers with VP of Marketing to establish goals, objectives and strategies to manage, plan and administer social media programs for marketing and advertising within corporate budget

Education, Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of social media only experience
Demonstrated ability to create engaging written content
Strong knowledge of the current social media landscape and ability to forecast trends
Expert in employing best-practices on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, Glassdoor
Strong understanding of SEO and ability to converse with data analysts
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated leadership experience
Experience integrating social media efforts into marketing strategies in a retail environment
Experience in managing consumer engagement and leveraging social media for a retail company
Active learner and forward thinker exceling at identifying evolving media trends and understanding NGVC’s role in the future of the natural foods industry
Ability to achieve success in a high-energy, fast-paced, collaborative environment
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines with creative solutions
