Rowdy Mermaid Kombucha, LLC is a kombucha manufacturing company located in Boulder, Colorado. We have grown between 106%-1024% every 12 weeks since 2014 and recently expanded distribution to 12 states. We are looking for a Food Service Sales Manager to open new Food Service Sales accounts in a 12 state territory. This will be a highly strategic role aimed at cementing our position as the fastest-selling kombucha in the region. We are seeking a sales manager deeply knowledgeable in the food & beverage sector with a track record of building and maintaining close relationships with customers at all scales.
Selected Essential Responsibilities
-Develop a “Go to Market” strategy for Food Service (FSS) accounts including but not limited to: Hospitality, Restaurant Groups, Multi & Single Unit restaurants, Event Management, Healthcare, Education, Taprooms, Breweries, Bars, Liquor Stores, Coffee shops, Universities, Ski Resorts, Fitness Studios & Convenience Stores.
-Own all FSS New Business Development efforts from lead generation to close.
-Sales presentations to all FSS clients including company background, product sampling, effective marketing collateral, identification of most appropriate distribution channel, and pricing communication.
-Input all communication and account data into Salesforce daily
-Manage existing and develop new distributor networks to drive new account sales, track revenue, and identify areas needing support.
-Provide the most professional and courteous customer service and maintain excellent localized customer relations with customer base.
-Regular meetings with National Sales Manager to track performance and analyze progress toward appointed goals.
-Relay customer and market feedback to company officers for the purpose of ongoing product development.
-Collaborate with internal partners in Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain to outline, plan and execute foodservice distribution strategies to service commitments.
-Participation in local networking events independently or alongside our sales and/or executive leadership team (e.g., Naturally Boulder events, new restaurant openings, etc). Become a recognizable and respected member of the regional food communities.
-Responsible for kombucha category and brand specific customer education of Rowdy Mermaid’s brand positioning, product quality, product points of difference, brand innovation, segment leadership and core values.
-4 year college degree preferred
-2-3+ years of professional experience in food service sales or beverage sales
-Track record of achievement and advancement including verified quota performance
-Superior strategic and tactical business development skills
-Foodservice distribution, competition knowledge and understanding of the beverage cost dynamics
-Excellent organization, time management, and communication skills
-Possessing a personality that is honest, direct, intuitive, and trustworthy, with excellent communication (verbal and written) and relationship building skills, coupled with the instinct and motivation to close new business efficiently and aggressively
-Exceptional team player. Able to wear a lot of hats and adapt to a rapidly changing workplace
-Exhibit a passion for the craft kombucha industry
-Self-starter. Able to take on projects and execute creatively and efficiently with minimal oversight
-Intermediate to advanced computer skills: proficiency with Google Suite & prior experience with a CRM required
-Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed (rare).
-Ability to travel extensively throughout the field
-Excellent driving record
