Planterra Foods is a fully funded plant-based protein start-up. It’s an investment by JBS USA, the second largest global food company and the world’s largest protein producer.

Our Marketing Team is growing! We are seeking candidates for a Graphic Designer role based at our office in Lafayette, CO.

The Graphic Designer will efficiently design and produce materials for printing, display or publication (physically and virtually) that enhances the overall images of and supports annual marketing plans for the company and its brands. The Graphic Designer provides design and production expertise in the implementation of a diverse spectrum of materials. Tasks are diverse and often time-sensitive, requiring good project/time management skills and a high degree of creative-thinking and collaboration.

Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with brand marketing, innovation and sales teams to determine project needs, objectives and most cost-effective solutions
  • Effectively communicate brand personality, voice, tone, and narrative as well as product features across all brand touchpoints through design/visual/copy
  • Responsible for design and production of packaging, labels, sales materials, point of purchase displays, digital assets as well as other projects as requested – completely involved in all phases of projects; responsible for setting priorities and resolving issues
  • Design and develop packages (including labels) from concept to production, including comp packages for presentations
  • Design a wide range of visual aids/materials to support marketing needs – this involves design and production of graphics materials for advertising, media, digital, social, and communication purposes
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of current graphics design software to execute assigned projects
  • Work with design, advertising and promotional agencies as needed to jointly execute projects
  • Photo sessions/visual content
  • Develop photo and prop list based on approved rough layouts
  • Schedule photo session with appropriate studio and communicate with studio regarding props, sets and food stylist or model needs
  • Negotiate fees to meet budget requirements
  • Select and pack Planterra product to be photographed (including replacement of labels, creation of mockups, etc)
  • Communicate and collaborate with project managers/photographers before, during and post shoot to ensure objectives and standards of quality are being met\
  • Develop and manage the creative platform and standards for the company and its brands – working in collaboration with company/brand identity managers and external agencies
  • Enforce the established company and brand standards and style guidelines to maintain the integrity of the company and brand logos/identities in all projects
  • Drive breakthrough ideas for design and content creation and follow current trends
  • Establish simple processes to drive workflow efficiencies for inbound requests
  • Develop, test, implement and maintain website
  • Create web and social media content and a schedule for publishing if needed
  • Document functional requirements for systems and processes
  • Understand customer needs and quantify appropriate actions
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
  • 4-6 years related experience supporting CPG brands and products required
  • Must have at least 2-3 years of hands-on experience in creating & maintaining web based applications, including working knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures such as HTML and knowledge of WordPress and Drupal
  • A degree in Design, Arts, and/or Graphic Design
  • Complete understanding of design to print process
  • Package Design and production experience required
  • Photography and video experience required
  • Adaptable to new developments in graphic design and publishing software
  • Highly organized; able to maintain and manage digital assets and finished files
  • Ability to work independently and manage projects with many moving parts
  • Creative problem-solving skills; ability to devise imaginative solutions to challenges
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; works well with internal stakeholders and external partners and suppliers
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Indesign and Photoshop
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Good technical knowledge of design hardware and systems

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

  • Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment
  • Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays
  • 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule
  • Base salary range of $51,000 – $65,000
  • This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program
