TITLE: Independent Grocery Account Manager
CLASSIFICATION: Full Time
REPORTS TO: Direct of Sales
Job Purpose Summary: We are a young, eager, and passionate team that needs someone to jump on board as we continue to scale the best organic bar brand in the market! The Independent Grocery Account Manager will manage and build and maintain a portfolio of Independent Grocery stores through grocery distributors including, but not limited to KeHE & UNFI.
Current account management: Manage a portfolio of 200+ independent grocery accounts and be responsible for growing this portfolio.
New Business development. Cold calls, Cold emails, and open 10 new independent accounts monthly.
Responsible for working with the Director of Sales on achieving sales forecast goals.
Establish and maintain effective relationships for accounts as a voice for KRF.
Work towards increasing promotions, racks, secondary displays, and adding additional SKU’s to current customers.
Assist in calling and/or emailing monthly delinquent accounts to increase sales frequency and maintain success for all existing independent grocery accounts.
Travel at least once per month to high-density areas of independent accounts to work in person with customers and broker partners.
Be accountable through personal daily/weekly updates, and report sales updates and status to the Director of Sales.
Educate accounts on how to sell Kate’s Real Food products and the brands mission and values.
Work in collaboration with other sales team members to achieve sales targets by assisting in projects involving grocery sales.
Attend/conduct/coordinate special events, sampling events, and demos as needed.
Communicate clearly and efficiently with KRF Operations and Sales.
Perform administrative duties in a timely manner.
Maintain a professional image and demeanor at all times.
10 new accounts a month (60-day run rate to scale pipeline)
The employee will manage their book of business and call on the current A accounts bi-monthly, and B + C accounts Quarterly at a minimum, unless instructed otherwise by any given account (ie: the account is in great standing and doesn’t want to be bothered or has directed us on when to communicate)
The employee will reach out to 90-day+ delinquent accounts within 30 days of the 90-day delinquency.
Monthly check-in for new accounts
Record important calls/emails in ZoHo
Quarterly revenue reviews on forecasted plan vs. actual.
The employee is responsible for tracking bonus payments.
Expectations and Qualifications:
A. Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree, Business or Marketing concentration is preferred.
2 years + of grocery sales experience preferred
Experience creating, evaluating, and improving sales
Experience building & maintaining relationships
Experience creating and analyzing sales data
B. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Passion for people and quality food
A results driven, energetic, confident personality
Have strong local contacts, know the local marketplace
Proficiency in the use of:
Microsoft Office products
CRM programs (Ex: Salesforce, ZoHo)
Excellent communication skills
The ability to drive and have a valid driver’s license
Base annual salary: $40k to $50K 10% annual bonus based on KPI’s Health benefits available Expense reimbursement for approved expenditures Mileage: .58 per mile reimbursement on approved mileage (subject to IRS rules and regulations) Equipment and expense to follow KRF policy 2 weeks vacation
