Marketing Communications Specialist

Allegro Coffee Company

This position is responsible for the creation and development of Allegro Coffee’s written content for websites, newsletters, blogs, articles, advertising, social media, packaging copy and marketing/sales materials. Our ideal candidate is a creative marketing professional, preferably with a background in journalism, advertising, and social media for a specialty coffee or artisan/craft foods brand. You should be able to develop engaging content to attract and retain customers across multiple platforms. Ultimately, you should be able to expand Allegro Coffee’s brand awareness and build long-term, loyal customers through strategic, engaging story telling and marketing campaigns.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
•Research markets and industries to compare and create content that is innovative and original
•Collaborate with project managers (including sales/product development managers/Marketing Programs Lead), creative team, and designers
•Write on a wide variety of topics for multiple platforms (website, blogs, articles, social updates, banners, guides, sales materials, packaging copy,etc.)
•Partner with the Marketing Programs Lead to develop seasonal content calendar for digital programs that align with current marketing initiatives and that garners new and loyal customers
•Optimize content considering SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and Google Analytics
•Build active and engaged online communities, maintains customer loyalty through positive experiences and lasting relationships
•Review daily customer engagement and works to uncover and engage with new potential customers
•Interfaces with customer service department, data team, sourcing and QC team on customer inquiries to determine suitable response to highly sensitive issues
•Interview sources including leadership, our sourcing team and branded partners
•Consistently brainstorming and collaborating with Marketing Leadership Team for new ideas and strategies
•Build a following for our brands on social media with creative, intentional communication and story telling
•Creating concise, eye-catching, and innovative headlines and body copy
•Research and organize facts and sources
•Remains current with social media and email marketing trends, and opportunities for testing new strategies
•Tracks competitive activity and best practices

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
•Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communication or marketing and a minimum of 2-3 years experience in web related marketing and development
•Artisan or craft foods or outdoor lifestyle marketing experience preferred
•Proficient in MAC and Microsoft based platforms
•Experience with Slack, Trello, Shopify, Facebook Business, Twitter Business, Instagram Business, Pinterest Business, Snapchat Business along with reporting and advertising tools on each platform
•Knowledge of content management platforms such as Hubspot or Hootsuite a plus
•Strong copy writing skills and editing skills
•Strong customer service communications skills
•Possess strong organization and planning skills with attention to details, ensuring deadlines are met
•Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
•Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines and short lead times
•Demonstrates strong ability and willingness to work in a collaborative environment across multiple stakeholders
