Job Description

The Operations and Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for supporting all facets of the supply chain, including oversight of the order fulfillment process. The candidate will report to the Operations Manager. The candidate must not only excel at the technical side of the job, but also be a good cultural fit with the hardworking, fun, and dynamic people that make up the Birch Benders team. This position will be based out of our office in the vibrant LoHi neighborhood of Denver, CO.

Primary Job Responsibilities
• Logistics Management
o Set up and manage all inbound and outbound freight (small orders, LTLs, TLs)
o Ensure all orders are shipped on-time and update internal systems to reflect shipment status
o Provide customer service support for inbound and outbound shipments
o Handle, submit, and monitor all freight-related claims
o Serve as primary, day-to-day contact for distributors and freight brokers
o Support marketing and sales functions with tradeshow management and sample requests

• Data Entry
o Manage entire order entry process, ensuring all orders are uploaded accurately and efficiently
o Send order confirmations to customers and create shipping notices when required
o Provide support to resolve receiving discrepancies

• Procurement
o Execute and track delivery of purchase orders for raw materials required for production
o Manage communication of product delivery to manufacturing partners and provide required documentation
o Assist with sourcing and bidding of raw materials
o Continually monitor and review costs to help control where possible

• Quality Assurance & Certifications
o Continually update QA documentation for all ingredients/suppliers, including specs, nutritionals, certifications, etc.
o Support innovation efforts by coordinating new sample requests, assisting with procurement of new materials, etc.

• Other additional duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree
• 1-3 years of experience in supply chain or operations management (CPG/food industry is preferred, but not a must)
• Excellent computer skills and willing to learn and master new computer programs
• Strong verbal, written, and listening communication skills
• Ability to work exceptionally well in a team environment
• Excellent time-management skills and comfortable with tight and variable deadlines
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Positive, enthusiastic, hardworking, persistent, and dependable
• Extremely well organized, resourceful, and detail-oriented
• Self-motivated and a doer — must be extremely results-driven
• Willing and able to:
o Thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment
o Maintain excellent working relationships with contacts inside and outside the company
o Manage many projects simultaneously and perform duties in an accurate, proficient, and timely manner
o Represent the company at trade shows and events
o Roll up their sleeves to do whatever it takes to get the job done
