Who We Are:

Hope is a beautiful thing.
We’re not talking about our hummus, although we love that too. We’re talking real hope—that optimistic sense of desire and expectation. We named our company Hope Foods because we believe in the possibility for better products to meet people’s hope for food they can love and trust.

The seeds of our company were sown at the Boulder County Farmers’ Market, where our Spicy Avocado hummus, a favorite with our friends, became a local favorite as well. Our goal soon became to spread this amazing experience of fresh hummus to a wider audience, using cold pressure (instead of heat) to keep the product fresh – just like at the Farmer’s market.

Today, our products are found across the country, in grocery and specialty stores of all shapes and sizes, with a wide selection of fresh hummus and guacamole that feature fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and the same level of passion we’ve been pouring into our products since day one. And we have a tremendous following of loyal fans to whom we will be forever grateful. We still make our products in small batches in the heart of Colorado, just a few miles from that original farmer’s market.

What You Will Do:

Following HOPE Foods procedures & policies, and providing leadership, direction & purpose, the QA Manager is responsible for the successful management & operation of the QA dept. of HOPE Foods to achieve all dept. goals, including; championing Hope Foods quality programs, setting, maintaining and achieving effective quality goals, developing effective product & production quality standards, effectively auditing Hope’s manufacturing site and all co-packers, communicating results in an effective manner, providing guidance and technical support to Hope employees and functions, maintaining an effective, talented work force, organizing and assigning work duties, using best practices and continuous improvement to ensure that HOPE Food’s customers both external & internal are continuously receiving quality products & service, while maintaining a safe, effective and harmonious work environment.

Work independently to provide quality service.
Understand, follow, and enforce all HOPE Foods policies, procedures, and protocols and promote company philosophy and objectives.
Audit Hope Foods, sanitation, GMP’s, HACCP, Hold & Release program, Quality and Food Safety programs as noted in IFS (International Food Standards) and HOPE Foods Quality Manual, Quality System policies, production, and other site procedures for compliance. Monitor in-process parameters and product specifications to ensure that they meet customer and quality expectations.
Manage all interaction with regulatory agencies, vendors and customers as required to successfully complete audits, ingredient validation programs and label & declaration programs.
Participate in overall plant management by working directly with members of management throughout all departments within the plant to ensure quality, efficiency, and customer service.
Using effective management practices and guided by the values and principles of HOPE Foods; ensure that all short- and long-range dept. goals are completed in a safe, effective, and timely manner.
Provide accurate and timely status reports to key stake holders.
Maintain a fully staffed dept. with talented and competent employees.
Hold regular dept. & team meetings to keep employees informed on Safety, Quality and Production related topics.
Critically evaluate all work rules and regulations and take corrective action regarding any potential safety hazard.
Maintain working knowledge and skill in operating equipment utilized under your supervision.
Foster a climate of safety, urgency, accuracy, and timeliness.
Continue to improve managerial abilities in addition to improving subordinates’ skills and capabilities.

BS (Bachelor of Science) with a major in Quality Systems / Food Science or equivalent experience such as professional Quality Systems certification, plus time required.
Minimum of 5 yrs. demonstrated experience in a QA or QC Supervisor’s role required, within a 24/5, fast-paced, multi-line, multi changeover, RTE / perishable food manufacturing CPG environment with advancement through more complex roles.
Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of third-party auditing, label certification, organic certification, SQF, GMP, HACCP/CCP and Allergen Control is required.
Proactive, team oriented & results driven management style required.
Demonstrated and proven personnel development, team building, motivation & leadership abilities required.
Demonstrated effective organizational, time management, investigative & problem-solving skills required with demonstrated goal achievement.
Demonstrated ability to interpret data and effectively communicate information is required.
Demonstrated hand-eye coordination and dexterity to handle precision instruments during calibration.
Intermediate computer skills required, with demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft programs.
Advanced math skills to interrupt data, understand weights and measures, and generate detailed statistical reports are required.
Demonstrated and documented safe working habits coupled with good attendance is required.
Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends.
Ability to maintain confidentiality is required.
Proficiency in current position is required.
Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) and be able to verbally communicate, understand, and write in the English language. Bi-lingual preferred.

Compensation Info

Salary range is $70-85k
