Sales Manager, Grocery

Ripple Foods, a fast-growing, entrepreneurial plant-based food tech company headquartered in Berkeley, CA, is looking for a motivated sales professional to manage key customers in the Grocery Channel. This leader will be responsible for cultivating deep relationships at multiple levels with grocery customers and profitably expanding the breadth of our business with those customers. The Grocery Sales Associate reports to the Director of National Grocery.

Account management (revenue forecasting, trade & promotion budgeting, PO management) and new business development

Expand Ripple’s distribution and improve pricing, shelving and merchandising across all customers

Build and maintain consultative business relationships with Category Managers at all customers.
Partner with CMs to develop and execute a detailed action plan to achieve revenue and profit goals

Work with Product Supply and Customer Service teams to manage the responsible liquidation of unproductive inventory in secondary channels

Improve our selling advantage by driving retailer category growth and contributing to their category strategies

Developing, driving and delivering customer-specific annual plans

Broker management

Knowledge of indirect distributor model

Resilience to juggle multiple projects seamlessly; project management experience in scoping, problem solving and influencing stakeholders across the organization to deliver high impact results

Travel up to 25% with the flexibility to occasionally work weekends and evenings as required

Bachelor’s degree is required
5 years of experience in CPG sales, preferably in food and beverage
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to clearly articulate Ripple Foods’ objectives to broker partners
Highly analytical; comfortable using consumption data and category trends to build compelling sales narratives
Ability to understand and advocate internally for voice of customer
Attention to detail, ability to complete given tasks with accuracy
Comprehending complex requests & meeting timelines and expectations
Ability to make optimal placement & assortment related decisions
Experience with market data analysis tools is required (experience working with ACNielsen and IRI data preferred)
Seeks assistance, information and resources at the right time to make quick, good decisions
Resilience – willingness to change mind or approach given new information
Must be comfortable using a Mac, Microsoft product suite and Google suite applications
