High fructose syrup – Knowing is half the battle

Rudi’s Organic Bakery has taken a step back to inform families of health and nutrition issues surrounding high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) in packaged sandwich bread. In a recent survey, Rudi’s found that only 23 percent of parents were aware that HFCS is common in packaged sandwich breads. HFCS is frequently used to sweeten beverages and food, such as Snapple drinks that are considered “all natural” despite containing the artificial sweetener.
