Linhart PR Recognized for Rudi’s Bakery Branding Initiatives

DENVER, April 14, 2009 – Linhart Public Relations, a Denver-based national public relations and corporate communications counseling firm, today announced it has been selected as a finalist for the Colorado Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America’s 2009 Gold Pick Awards in six categories for its work in the following communications, branding and marketing initiatives:

Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, the Colorado-based chain known for high-quality gourmet burgers and kid- and family-friendly atmosphere, is a finalist in the Marketing Consumer Products, Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages category for its annual “Next Gourmet Burger Kids’ Recipe Contest,” a national competition inviting kids ages six to12 to develop their own burger recipe. Linhart PR aided Red Robin in securing local, regional and national coverage for the contest totaling 55.9 million consumer media impressions, drawing a clear connection between Red Robin, families and gourmet burgers.

Crocs, Inc., the designer, manufacturer and retailer of performance casual footwear for men, women and children under the Crocs™ brand, is a finalist in the Marketing Consumer Products Non-packaged Goods category for generating awareness of the launch of SolesUnitedSM, a first of its kind, recycled shoe donation program that provides new, high-quality footwear to those without shoes worldwide. By securing 125 million consumer media impressions nationwide for the launch, Linhart PR helped keep Crocs™ shoes top-of-mind with customers and helped Crocs reach its goal of donating two million pairs of Crocs™ shoes to those in need in 2008.

Rudi’s Organic Bakery, the leading producer of certified organic bread in the U.S., is a finalist in the Integrated Communications and Consumer Products category. In order to drive trial and conversion in Colorado, Rudi’s Organic Bakery and Linhart PR developed a marketing and brand awareness campaign focused on educating consumers about what’s really in commercial breads. The program raised awareness about the high fructose corn syrup and other artificial ingredients baked into most conventional breads. The program led to a 20 percent increase in sales in Colorado.

MWH, a global environmental engineering firm engaging in projects in the water, natural resources and infrastructure sectors, was named a finalist in the Feature Stories category for a bylined article written by Linhart PR about developments in the hydropower industry, leading to follow-on coverage in key trade publications, as well as in USA Today.

Solix Biofuels, an innovative algae-based biofuel technology company, is a finalist in the Business-to-Business Media Relations category. LPR created a media relations campaign that established Solix as a credible player in the biofuel industry, and garnered major print and online coverage read by industry analysts and investors, including The New York Times Green Inc. blog.

Renewable Choice Energy, a full-service provider of Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) and carbon offsets to corporations and individuals, was named a finalist under the Blogger Campaign category for Renewable Choice Energy’s “Green Your Phone” program, an energy credit program allowing consumers to have their cell phones powered by wind farms in an effort to reduce CO2 emissions. Linhart PR was able to secure coverage about “Green Your Phone” in top-tier environmental and electronic blogs, as well as online and print daily newspapers, and the program even generated several “tweets” on Twitter.

Winners will be announced during the annual Gold Pick Award Ceremony on May 7.
