NEW OFFICERS AND BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEMBERS ELECTED BY NATURALLY BOULDER

New and returning board members begin two‐year terms in January

BOULDER, COLO. – JAN. 24, 2013 – Naturally Boulder, an economic development organization whose mission is to nurture start‐up natural foods companies and promote Boulder and Colorado’s Front Range as the epicenter of the natural products movement, today announced the results of its annual election for officers and members of its board of directors.

Ellen Feeney of WhiteWave Foods will serve as president of Naturally Boulder in 2013. Sonja Tuitele of Aurora Organic Dairy and natural products marketing veteran Bill Capsalis will serveas co‐vice presidents. Frances Draper of the University of Colorado will continue to serve astreasurer. Jennifer Margoles of 34 Degrees will continue as secretary of the board.

As board president, Feeney takes the leadership reins from Doug Radi of Charter Baking and Rudi’s Organic Bakery, who led Naturally Boulder to continued growth and success in a two-year term as president completed at the end of 2012. Radi also stepped down from the boardafter serving from 2008 through 2012.

Since December 2010, Naturally Boulder has grown from 330 to 530 members, with well over a third of members from outside the Greater Boulder area. Sponsorship revenue, which funds Naturally Boulder’s education, promotion and networking efforts, doubled during this period.

Adriane Little, marketing manager for Boulder Brands Inc., joined the Naturally Boulder boardas a new member, elected for a term beginning in 2013. Six returning board members were reelected: Bill Capsalis; Rob Goldstein of Polsinelli Shughart PC; Victoria Hartman of Madhava Natural Sweeteners; Catherine Hunziker of WishGarden Herbs; Jennifer Margoles; and Blake Waltrip of Celestial Seasonings. All board members serve two‐year terms.

Other Naturally Boulder board members continuing in their roles in 2013 include Laura Coblentz of Pharmaca Integrative Pharmacy; Jacqui Dietrich, Ercus Group; Carla McCabe, Concept‐to‐Shelf Natural and Organic Products; Paul Raab, Linhart PR; and Nike Van Arsdale, Presence Marketing.

Arron Mansika will continue to serve as director of operations and administration for Naturally Boulder. Advisory board members continuing in 2013 include natural and organic products veterans Joan Boykin, Mark Retzloff, Linnea Simons and Sylvia Tawse.

Nearly two dozen executives of natural and organic products manufacturers, retailers and service providers, from the Boulder/Denver area and beyond, vied for seats on the Naturally Boulder board. The 2013 board was approved in December at Naturally Boulder’s annual membership meeting, and officers were chosen at the board’s annual strategic planning session earlier this month.

“The focus of Naturally Boulder in 2013 and beyond will be to continue to cultivate the entrepreneurial spirit for which Boulder is so well known,” said Feeney. “The natural products industry is at the nexus of where health, nutrition and environmental stewardship intersect. This is a mission‐driven industry with mission‐driven business leaders. We provide a myriad of events and opportunities for emerging company leaders to expand their knowledge and to learn from those with more experience.
