Adam has spent the past 8+ years in the consumer packaged goods space as owner/operator/advisor investor. He had the amazing opportunity 2 years ago to start turning that knowledge into resources (blogs, lists, videos) for CPG founders at Rodeo.
What area(s) of focus would you most like to address with your mentees?
I’ve started two of my own CPG brands so am sort of a “jack of all trades, master of none.” In addition, I built out our digital playbook for first-time founders, Jumpstart (http://courses.rodeocpg.com). Given that, I’m probably best equipped to help very early-stage brands ($0-$100k) launch by defining customer personas, early-days branding, product market fit, etc.
How do you plan to structure your monthly meetings?
I’ll ask the group what their most pressing pain points are and put some structured thoughts around those. Depending on the subject, that may just be me presenting or bringing in an another expert to share their point of view/have a discussion. Ideally, that’d be 20-30 minutes and the rest would be open to Q&A to keep things engaging.
Finally, who would be an ideal mentee for you in this program, given your areas of expertise and experience?
A first-time, bootstrapped founder who’s determined, scrappy, and undeterred by the fact that the world is a mess at the moment. 🙂
